Prof. Joachim Mueller from the ENT department of the University Clinic Wurzburg (Chairman: Prof. R.Hagen) organized the 8th Wullstein Symposium, which took place from 11-12 December 2009.

Topic: The treatment of unilateral deafness.

More than 120 speakers and attendees from all over the world discussed on this issue, where Prof. Müller and the Wurzburg clinic recently did real pioneering work. In the final discussion the international panel agreed that data is stable to support Cochlear Implantation in Single Sided deafness SSD adults. The panel further agreed on the statement that children need to be an issue for the future here.
