The Yorkshire Cochlear Implant Service (YCIS) was established at the Bradford Royal Infirmary in 1990. The YCIS has developed nationally recognised programmes for assessing children and adults with severe to profound hearing loss. To date, we have successfully completed over 450 adult and paediatric cochlear implants.
YCIS is committed to providing a caring and quality service for patients and their families. At the YCIS, we strive to offer a flexible service guided by the individual needs of each adult or child.
The whole process of initial assessment, fitting of the implant and rehabilitation involves the patient and their family working with the hospital team in a variety of settings including the hospital, home and school environment.
