Admission Criteria & Procedure​

HEARRING will consider adding a new center to the network only after carefully evaluating if the center fulfills the following criteria:

  • Scientific Contribution: Proven contribution to high-level scientific work including analysis of number papers, level of journals, impact factor, research topics, etc.
  • Recognition: National and international recognition.
  • Program Stability: Running a stable hearing implant program.
  • Shared Values: Sharing values of friendship, cooperation, confidentiality, and loyalty to the group. For more info, follow this link: https://www.hearring.com/code-of-conduct/
  • Mentorship Endorsement: Endorsement by at least 2 mentors within the HEARRING group.
  • Active membership in the HEARRING Group refers to a member’s full and consistent engagement with the group’s activities and goals. This includes:
    • Active Participation: Willingness to be active and contribute to the vision, goals, and spirit of the network. 
    • Event participation: Actively attending in HEARRING surveys, studies, events, workshops, round tables and symposia.
    • Generating training content: Creating or sharing educational material to help train and inform members.
    • Online event participation (e.g. as a panelist): Engaging in virtual events, such as serving as a speaker or panelist.
    • Attending meetings: Regularly attending and participating in scheduled meetings.
    • Offering input: Providing feedback, ideas, or suggestions to improve the group’s initiatives.
    • Active communication: Maintaining open lines of communication with other members and leadership.
    • Staying updated on group matters: Keeping informed about the group’s activities, decisions, and any developments.

admission Procedure:

 
  1. Letter of Intent: Submit a letter of intent to the HEARRING Steering Committee members, mentioning how the HEARRING pillars can be supported. See example attached.
  2. Endorsement Letters: Provide two letters of endorsement from HEARRING members to the Steering Committee.
  3. Contribution: The Steering Committee will allow the potential new center to contribute in terms of a Round Table or with a scientific multicentric study with HEARRING members.
  4. Evaluation: The Steering Committee will evaluate the contribution and deliberate about submission to vote within the Steering Committee.
  5. Positive Vote: If the Steering Committee’s vote is positive:
    • Recording of the HRT or scientific publication will be sent to the whole network.
    • The whole network will vote to admit the center.
  6. Statutes Compliance: in accordance with the criteria stated in the statutes of the HEARRING Network >>>

    a new center will be welcomed into the network.

  7. Communication to the network: the HEARRING Network will be informed through a newsletter. The new center will present the clinic and the team during a network meeting
